NRT Application Form

The University of Missouri’s National Science Foundation Research Traineeship program (NRT) is a doctoral program with integrated components of materials research, data science and analytics, and creative process. Each trainee will complete a graduate certificate in Data Science and Analytics with an emphasis area devoted to materials. Applicants should originate from materials-relevant academic disciplines.

This application is for NRT program consideration and is not an application for university admission. We anticipate accepting approximately 15 trainees into the program per year.

Accepted trainees will compete for NRT fellowships (stipend + tuition/fees) that will be applied for the trainees’ second year in the program.  Not all trainees will be selected for a fellowship.
